These are some examples of the knives I've made through the years. |
Damascus Skinner / Hunter
Damascus (52100 from ball bearings, 1085 and 1010)
3.5" blade, 7.5" overall length. Handle was made with micarta
(also made by me) with a copper and alpacca metal mokume detail. The
hilt was made with the same mokume with a punched spot showing the
different layers of the two metals. Sheath is hand stitched cow leather
with sheephide inserts. |
Small Ball Bearings Damascus
Damascus (52100, 1010 and 1085)
3" blade, 7" overall length. Handle was made from deer stag,
and it has a small brass coin in the butt. Guard and bolster are
also brass and the spacer is leather. Sheath is handstitched cow
leather. Process
of making this knife. |
Chain and Bone Damascus Drop Point
Damascus (1070 and 52100) from a motorcycle distribution chain.
4.75" blade, 9.5" overall length. Handle was made with cotton
linen micarta with a polished cow bone as butt. Guard and "skull
crusher" are also made with the same chain I used to forge the
blade. Sheath is handstitched cow leather. |
Big Fighter
Hand forged 9260, differentially hardened, satin finish.
10" blade, 16" overall length. Handle was made of deer stag
with some layers of wood and rubber near the hilt. The hilt itself
is brass with some simple work. Sheath is hand stitched cowhide for
belt carry. |
Coppered Damascus Drop Point
Damascus (1030 and 1085) plated in copper with a galvanic process
technique.
3.5" blade, 8" overall length. Handle was made with laqued
maple with a copper bolster covered with glassified powder enamel
in several colors. The spacer between the bolster and handle is cow
leather, as well as the sheath, made for cross carry. |
